About the image:My good friend and colleague boards her horse at the stables located here. One day, camera in hand, I visited her there and we wandered about the property. Pictured here is the lovely little creek that flows through the landscape. After posting a picture of this work in progress on Facebook, some artist friends joked with me about putting a duck in the picture, which I felt added some interest, so I did it. The next suggestion was an alligator going to eat it. As you can see, the gator didn't make the cut. P.O. About the image:

I started this artwork while in residency at Rensing Center in South Carolina.  Lake Keowee was just a short drive away and served as inspiration for this piece.

While I was working on this piece I was dreaming of a trip to Oregon.  The Western Skink at the base of the tree is homage to that future journey.
